Your bank account is only as secure as the habits around it. Here are five practical steps every Royal BB customer should take.

1. Never share your one-time code

Royal BB sends a verification code to your email each time you log in. That code is for you alone. No member of our staff will ever call, email or message you asking for it. If someone does, it is a scam.

2. Use a password you do not use anywhere else

If a password you reuse is exposed in a breach on another website, attackers will try it on your banking login. A unique password, ideally stored in a password manager, removes that risk.

3. Check the sender before you click

Phishing emails often imitate real banks. Look at the sending address carefully, and when in doubt, type royalbb.co.za into your browser directly rather than following a link.

4. Review your transaction history regularly

Your dashboard shows every deposit, transfer and withdrawal. Checking it weekly means you spot anything unfamiliar early, when it is easiest to resolve.

5. Keep your contact details current

Security alerts and verification codes go to the email address on your profile. If it changes, update it in your account settings straight away.
